100 cataract surgeries
Vision 2021
In 2021, GMF Australia will work towards providing cataract surgeries to the underprivileged people in developing countries.
Cataracts are the most common cause of reversible blindness. It is more prevalent in low socio-economic society with malnutrition, poor sanitation and lack of education contributing to its incidence.
Often, people with cataracts in rural and remote areas end up living in blindness, having no means of getting help due to poverty. In turn they are often unable to work, further worsening their level of poverty.
When an earning member of the family is affected with blindness, they are unable to provide for them, leaving them in circumstances of helplessness.
Our vision in 2021 is to help restore eyesight in such vulnerable communities.
Please join GMF Australia in supporting this worthy cause with a donation.
